When booking the church date for your wedding do you pay then or later and how much?
I was told it was actually called a donation and it was like $500. But is that correct and when do I pay? Do you pay the caterer and photographer, etc when you book the date or the day of the wedding?

$500 is about average where I live for a church donation and in some of the bigger churches it’s like $1,500. We are having our wedding at a church which we are not members of but they didn’t charge us anything to reserve the date and time. I think it depends on where you go.
We also reserved the catering date but they have not required a deposit and said that we can wait until 6 months before the event (which was nice since we booked like 15 months in advance). As the photographer, we are going to have a family member do it so are just paying their plane ticket
